The NSE Nifty 50 closed 202.90 points or 0.93% higher to settle at 22,097.45, while the BSE Sensex gained 759.49 points or 1.05% to 73,327.94. The broader indices closed in the green, with gains led by largecap and midcap stocks. Bank Nifty index closed higher by 448.50 points or 0.94% to settle at 48,158.30.
The benchmark equity indices are trading flat during intraday trading on Thursday. The NSE Nifty 50 is up marginally 0.02% at 19,806.70, while the BSE Sensex is trading at 66,443.17, up 0.04 points. The broader indices are trading largely in the green. Bank Nifty is up 84.60 points or 0.19% at 44,601.50. Among the other sectoral indices, Media is leading the gains and has added over 3%, while Auto and Metal have also joined the rally. Meanwhile, IT and Realty stocks are trading in the red.
Gujarat Mineral Development Corpn, Infosys, TCS, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank are among the most active stocks on the NSE.
